Renovation of a conference / convention center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a conference / convention center.
1) Cable Pathway & Support - Installations a) The floor plan provided with this scope of work has been updated with proposed horizontal ceiling cable routes for both 24 strand backbone fiber as well as 6 strand local fiber. b) Provide and install cost effective cable support system secured to building ceiling structure every 5' and set support hooks high, tight and neatly bundled at the building structure and all routes must run at 90 degree or other angles if shown. (Installer will provide all cable support hardware (J-hooks, mounting hardware, conduit sleeves, firestop, etc). 2) Conduit Sleeve Installations a) When the overhead cabling route intersects deck to deck walls install a conduit sleeve to pass cabling through wall. b) The general contractor will install 4" conduits to pass cabling through drywall, and conduits from drop ceiling down Power poles to feed systems furniture. 3) Fiber Cabling - Installations a) Install (102) 6 strand Fiber optic cables and (3) 24 strand Fiber optic cables for locations indicated in the PACC Cable Plan, all cables shall have a minimum of 18" service loop at each end for workstation location. b) All 6 strand fiber optic cables will be terminated with LC jacks and inserted into a flush mount faceplate for wall locations c) All fiber optic cables will be terminated with LC jacks inserted into closet connector housing panels in the MDF/ IDF closet racks. d) All cabling will be properly supported with cable supports 4) Contractor to schedule work so not to disrupt the daily operations of the PA Convention Center. 5) Contractor to provide all labor, material, equipment, and subcontractors required to complete the network fiber infrastructure upgrade project. Where Bid Security is required on the Bid Form, the bid shall be accompanied by Bid Security in the form of either a certified check or a surety company's Bid Bond in substantially the form contained in these materials and, in either case, in an amount of not less than 5% of the Total Base Contract Bid, which Bid Security shall be payable to the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority as payee or oblige. Each Bid submitted shall remain firm for the periods listed in this document and may not be withdrawn in whole or in part during that time, except by written mutual consent of the PCCA and the Bidder. Bidder shall forfeit its Bid Security to the extent of the damage to BID PACKAGE Network Fiber Infrastructure Upgrades General Conditions 8 PCCA occasioned by such withdrawal. Bids may be withdrawn personally or on written or telegraphic request received from Bidders prior to the time fixed for receiving Bids. Electronic request for withdrawal will not be permitted. Negligence on the part of the Bidders in preparing Bids confers no right for the withdrawal of Bids after opening except as provided by law. The accepted bidder shall furnish Corporate Surety Bonds covering faithful performance of the Contract and the payment of all obligations arising thereunder. The bonds shall be substantially in the forms provided herein and shall be procured from a surety or sureties acceptable to the Owner. The bond or bonds shall be in an amount equal to the Contract price (100% performance bond, 100% payment bond). The Owner and such other persons or entities as the Owner designates shall be named as obligees on the bond or bonds.
