Renovation of a conference / convention center in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 6,000-square-foot conference / convention center.

The work shall consist of renovations to an existing 6,000 sf. metal building. With exception of a new driveway and some drainage improvements, most of the work of the base bid is interior work consisting of some limited demolition, new gypsum board walls, new accordion partition, new finishes, and new mechanical and electrical systems. The alternates include additions to the building and new parking. Base Bid: The base bid will include the basic building package including all exterior and interior finishes, but not including following alternates. Alternate No. 1: Add Port Cochere and Paint Existing Roof. The Port Cochere consists of a metal building frame and roof (the 840sf concrete slab is part of the Base Bid). There are no walls, but the gable ends are enclosed. The metal roof of the existing building is to be washed, all screws replaced, all holes repaired, and surface painted with a metal acrylic coating finish. Alternate No. 2: Covered Pavilion. The pavilion consist of a 1250sf concrete slab, and a metal building frame and roof, attached to the south side of the existing building. There are no walls, but support electrical is included. It is further understood and agreed that the work under this contract shall be completed within the time stated on the Bid Proposal, subject to reimbursement to the owner of liquidated damages in the amount designated on the Proposal Form. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashiers check, or Bid Bond payable to St. Martin Parish, the amount of which shall be five percent (5%) of the amount of the proposed Base Bid plus all Alternates. Money Orders will not be accepted. This shall be given as guarantee that the bidder will execute the contract, if it is awarded to him, in conformity with the Contract Documents. If a Bid Bond is used, it must meet the requirements according to R.S. 38:2218. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract, written by a company licensed to do business in Louisiana, and who is currently on the U.S. Department of the Treasury Financial Management Service List, or by a Louisiana domicile insurance company with at least an A-rating in the latest printing of the A.M. Bests Key Rating Guide to write individual bonds up to ten percent of policy holders surplus as shown in the A.M. Bests Key Rating Guide and complies with R.S. 38:2219 (R.S. 28:2218 Bid Bond). The bond shall be countersigned by a person who is under contract with the surety company or bond issuer as agent of the company and who is licensed as an insurance agent in this State, and who is residing in this State. Bids shall be accepted only from contractors who are licensed by the State of Louisiana for the classification of Building Construction. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after receipt of bids, except under the provisions of La. R.S. 38:2214. The successful bidder shall supply all required insurance with carrier(s) acceptable to the Owner. The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause. In accordance with La. R.S. 38:2212 (A) (1) (b), the provisions and requirements of this action, those stated in the Invitations for Bids, and those required on the bid form shall not be considered as informalities and shall not be waived by any public entity.
