As of June 14, 2022, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. The proposed work consists of removal and replacement of deteriorated and/or damaged sidewalk along the west side of Washington Street (Missouri State Highway 80) to the intersection with Missouri State Highway 105, where the project will terminate. The project will construct a new sidewalk along the route of the current sidewalk, and erect new street lights. The new sidewalk will be constructed between R.A. Doyle Elementary School and Highway 105, where no sidewalk currently exists as well as curb ramp upgrades. All labor used in the construction of this public improvement shall be paid a wage no less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages of work of a similar character in this locality as established by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (Federal Wage Rate), or state wage rate, whichever is higher. The prime contractor must be on MoDOT's approved contractor listing. This requirement includes that the contractor has submitted to MoDOT a Contractor Questionnaire and/or Contractor Prequalification Questionnaire with attachments no later than seven (7) days prior to the date and hour of the bid opening (see Section 102.2 of the Missouri Standard Specifications for Highway Construction for more details). The City of East Prairie, Missouri hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, ancestry, or national origin in consideration for an award. All bidders must be on MoDOT's Qualified Contractor List per Section 102.2 of the Missouri Standard Specifications for highway Construction, 2016 Edition including all revisions. The contractor questionnaire must be on file 7 days prior to bid opening. The project will be awarded to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder. Contractors and sub-contractors who sign a contract to work on public works project provide a 10-Hour OSHA construction safety program, or similar program approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, to be completed by their on-site employees within sixty (60) days of beginning work on the construction project. A certified or cashier's check or a bid bond in the amount of 5% shall be submitted with each proposal. The City of East Prairie reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
