The project is a proposed new City Hall Annex to improve city service to the community and provide an improved and more efficient working environment for the city staff. The project is located on an approximate 1.1-acre site in historic downtown Waxahachie across South Rodgers Street from the existing City Hall. The vision of the city and project is to provide a pedestrian/citizen friendly environment both the interior as well as the exterior surrounding environment. Being located in the Waxahachie Downtown Historic District, the exterior design must meet the standards in the Downtown Waxahachie Design Guidelines. The project site is of a size to allow the inclusion of a commercial retail component with plaza and a surface parking lot located behind the buildings. A pedestrian Arcade will connect the parking lot with South Rogers Street.
