Question Cutoff Date: 4/30/2019 03:00:00 PM (ET) Asbestos testing and consultation for each unit will be required prior to rehabilitation. Evaluation services may include: 1. Inspection of affected units for asbestos hazards. 2. Preparation of a Risk Assessment Evaluation identifying and detailing asbestos level readings for any area of the unit. 3. Identification of asbestos hazards that require interim controls. 4. Preparation of work write-ups and cost estimates covering the remediation of asbestos. 5. Coordination with housing rehabilitation staff to determine rehabilitation approach. 6. Clearance of unit. 7. Training services to Contractors regarding Asbestos Safe Work Practices The County of Lexington Community Development Department announces the invitation for bid for certified asbestos consultants to conduct asbestos testing services on qualified owner occupied rehabilitation housing projects and disaster recovery buyout projects. The County has been entitled to carry out federal affordable housing, rehabilitation and buyout programs through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), the Community Development Disaster Recovery Block Grant (CDBG-DR) and the HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Programs. These programs are administered under the guidelines of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The County of Lexington reserves the right to contact an offeror for clarification of information submitted, to contact references, and to use other sources of obtaining information regarding the offeror that is deemed appropriate and would assist in the evaluation
