The work to be performed consists of the demolition of one existing lime silo at the R.B. Simms Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and two existing lime silos at the Myles W. Whitlock WTP as set forth in the Bid, as shown on the Drawings and as Specified.All bids must be accompanied by a certified check, or a bid bond of a reputable bonding company authorized to do business in the State of South Carolina, in an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. The bid bond shall be prepared on the form of the bid bond attached to the Contract Documents or a surety company's standard bid bond, duly executed by the Bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company licensed to do business in the State of South Carolina. No bid will be considered unless the bidder is legally qualified under the provisions of the South Carolina Contractor's Licensing Law (South Carolina Code of Laws as amended on April 1, 1999, Chapter 11, Sections 40-11-10 through 40-11-428). All bids shall be submitted as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders. A 100% Payment Bond and 100% Performance Bond will be required of the successful bidder. No submitted bid may be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids and to waive informalities.
