Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Bristol, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

This project provides for the furnishing of all labor, material, equipment and work necessary for the removal of an existing single-span steel bridge over the PA Turnpike (I-276) and construction of new two-span steel plate girder bridge. The contract also includes reconstruction of S.R. 2006 approach roadway, realignment of two side roads, utility installations, drainage modifications, signing and pavement markings, temporary traffic signals, and the construction of the mainline median/shoulder at the proposed bridge location. Work items include, but are not limited to: 29,280 CY Excavation, Various Classes 2,265 TON Superpave Asphalt Mixture, Wearing Course, Various Depths 1,895 TON Superpave Asphalt Mixture, Binder Course, Various Depths 3,489 TON Superpave Asphalt Mixture, Base Course, Various Depths 5,516 TON Subbase, (No. 2A), Various Depths 3,437 LF 6" Pavement Base Drain 528 LF Drainage Pipe, Various Sizes and Types 1,675 LF Guide Rail, Various Types 2,396 CY Cement Concrete, Various Classes 5,694 LF Piles, Various Sizes 601,866 LB Fabricated Structural Steel 268,115 LB Reinforcement Bars, Epoxy Coated 72,237 LB Reinforcement Bars Milepost 355.62 is located approximately 5.3 miles east of the Bensalem Interchange, Exit 351 and approximately 1.0 mile west of the Delaware Valley Interchange, Exit 42, in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The proposal and plans are published electronically in EBS and are available to registered business partners for downloading and printing. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project. The opening and listing of bids not meeting all the terms and conditions of the bid advertisement or bid procedures does not act as a waiver or modification of any requirements contained in the bid advertisement or bid procedure. Network No. 7007100 2 NtoB(T-355.00P002-3-06) The Provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of August 15, 1961, P.L. 987, as amended, together with the rates and regulations promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry applicable thereto, shall apply to this contract.
