This project provides for the furnishing of all labor, material, equipment and work necessary for the removal of an existing single-span steel bridge over the PA Turnpike (I-276) and construction of new two-span steel plate girder bridge. The contract also includes reconstruction of S.R. 2006 approach roadway, realignment of two side roads, utility installations, drainage modifications, signing and pavement markings, temporary traffic signals, and the construction of the mainline median/shoulder at the proposed bridge location. 72,237 LB Reinforcement Bars Milepost 355.62 is located approximately 5.3 miles east of the Bensalem Interchange, Exit 351 and approximately 1.0 mile west of the Delaware Valley Interchange, Exit 42, in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The proposal and plans are published electronically in EBS and are available to registered business partners for downloading and printing. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project.
