The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship works with landowners to close Agricultural Drainage Wells (ADWs). Its Division of Soil Conservation and Water Quality (Division) has been in discussions with landowners in Wright County about creating permanent wetlands as an alternative to placing a new tile drainage system. The Division is seeking services from an entity to provide engineering and design services to close the ADWs, determine the wetland area created, design incoming tile outlets, design wetland outlets, complete easement boundary plats, develop construction plans and specifications, assist with construction bidding, and provide construction observations. Any entity interested in submitting a proposal must go to: http://bidopportunities.iowa.gov/ to download the RFP. As of July 5, 2024, the project is currently under construction. The completion timeline has not been disclosed.
