Estimated Cost is $416,000. The work consists of demolition of the existing stone masonry spillway, the demolition of the majority of the east and west dam walls, including part of the existing gatehouse foundation and filling the portion to remain with controlled density fill, removal of the upstream concrete apron, demolition of the upstream diversion dam, removal of the existing chain link fences within the project area, tree clearing, installation of new chain link fence, placement of rip rap, and surface restoration. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form. All Bids for this project are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended. Prequalification in Dam Removal is required. A bid deposit shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Workforce Development under the provision of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the Contractor, before Bid opening, to request if necessary, any additional information on Minimum Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed Work under this Contract. This project is funded by a grant from the Massachusetts Dam and Seawall Repair or Removal Program. The project shall be completed and ready for final payment 84 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed.
