Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Greensboro, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a stadium; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
** As of 08/12/2019, project has not yet been awarded. For the furnishing of labor, material, and equipment entering into the construction of a new front entrance on the north side of the coliseum Arena to provide access into the Arena lobby and renovations to the VIP parking lot at the north side of the Greensboro Coliseum located in Greensboro, NC. The base bid work will include but not be limited to Construction of a new entrance vestibule exterior to the footprint of the existing Arena with new curtain wall, floor, and ceiling finishes, and including extension of the existing fire protection system and new lighting as shown on the drawings. Construction of new steel framing and finishes for new signage at the low roof level at the north side of the Arena. Selective demolition of existing parking lot areas, installation of new parking lot and other auxiliary components such as the construction of a biocell, plantings, parking attendant booths, parking lighting, signage, traffic markings, etc. The successful bidder will coordinate and work with the Owner for delivery and execution of this contract and scope of work. Bids will be received by single prime format, by general contractors for all work. All proposals shall be based on a stipulated sum basis. Segregated bids will not be accepted. All proposals shall include the cost of all state and local sales and use taxes. All contractors are hereby notified that they must have proper license under the state laws governing their respective trades. General Contractors are notified that Chapter 87, Article 1, General Statutes of North Carolina, will be observed in receiving and awarding general contracts. General contractors submitting bids on this project must have license classification for general construction - unlimited (set forth the license classification required under G.S. 87-1). Electrical Contractors are notified that Chapter 87, Article 4, General Statutes of North Carolina, will be observed in receiving and awarding electrical contracts Each proposal shall be accompanied by a cashiers check or a certified check drawn on some bank or trust company, insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, of an amount equal to but not less than five Percent (5%) of the proposal, or in lieu thereof a bidder may offer a bid bond of five percent (5%) of the bid executed by a surety company licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond. Said deposit shall be retained by the Owner as liquidated damages in event of failure of the successful bidder to execute the contract within ten working days after the award or to give satisfactory surety as required by law. Each proposal must be accompanied by the documentation required by the City of Greensboros Minority and Womens Business Enterprise program included in the project manual. Failure to include such documentation is grounds for rejection of the bid proposal. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids, except under the provisions of General Statute 143-129.1, for a period of sixty (60) days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities that are deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Greensboro. ***Contractor is responsible for providing an insurance policy with a minimum $2 million coverage for this project. The City has waived the responsibility for insuring the entire Arena facility during construction. Please use the City’s revised version of the Standard AIA documents with supplemental conditions included in the project specifications.
