The contract is required to provide all labor and materials necessary to complete the work which includes installation of a new 5-hp motor and trash pump capable of pumping up to 400 gallons per minute (g.p.m.), suction, three (3) inch Eaton Model 72 Simplex Strainer with threaded connection and cast iron body (ST0720300T4C), filter, electrical wiring, and earth work. The existing retention pond is usually empty and dry. Should water be present at the time of construction, the pond shall be drained prior to commencement of work. Install new pump as indicated on the attached drawings. Power for the new pump shall be obtained from the nearby disconnect located inside the existing pump house. The new pump shall be installed in accordance with the requirements of the National Electrical Code. All conduit and fittings must be weather proof and anchored to the foundation or galvanized unistrut. Run all electrical from the existing electrical box located inside the pump house to feed new control electrical box feeding the new motor and pump. All electrical work shall be in NEMA approved lockable weatherproof boxes. A 24" x 24" x 36" concrete basin w/ metal grate must be installed at the end of the suction pipe to avoid debris going into the pump. The work areas shall be left clean and orderly. Once the installation is complete, the new pump shall be tested to ensure that it is acceptable working condition before the contractor leaves the job site.
