Demolition, site work, paving, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the addition of a 7,696-square-foot, one-story above grade fire / police facility; and for the renovation of a 2,798-square-foot, two-story above grade parking garage.
The City of Reedsburg will receive sealed bids on a Single Prime Contract for the Reedsburg Police Department Addition / Renovation project located at 200 South Park Street, Reedsburg, Wisconsin 53959, for: Work includes the construction of a new patrol vehicle storage garage and the renovation of existing garage space repurposed to accommodate a new collaborative detective suite. Site work will include demolition of an existing public parking lot, with walks and curbing, to accommodate the building addition construction. Site work will include drainage structures, finish grading, site restoration, paving and new walks. There are reported unsuitable soils that will need to be replaced with engineered fill to accommodate new work. The existing building is a 2-story masonry and steel framed building with exterior brick and limestone veneers. Existing roof is wood frame with shingle finish. Existing building is concrete slab on grade with frost wall foundations. New construction will match existing construction in materials and finishes. The existing building is roughly 19,894 sf with roughly 2,000 sf of existing garage space. 1,400 sf of the existing garage will have overhead door openings enclosed with masonry infill to match existing facade and interior construction finishes provided to build out a detective suite with collaboration space, staff offices and conference / interview space. Remaining garage space will be re-purposed as a sally port with new secure corridor connecting to existing booking / processing space. The garage addition will be 8,218 sf with primary function as a patrol vehicle parking garage. Design features will include a new armory storage and work room, staff lockers, impound and evidence processing bay, and vehicle wash bay. One existing office will be demolished to accommodate a new connecting corridor to tie existing building in with building addition. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 10:30 am local time, Thursday, February 27th at the Reedsburg City Hall Council Chambers, located at 134 South Locust Street, Reedsburg, WI. Attendance by general contract bidders is mandatory. Subcontractors may attend. I site facility tour will follow.
