Included in this network is all of the HVAC equipment at the Lake City District Office, and Jacksonville Urban Office, including, but not limited to, chillers, air handlers, cooling towers, split (DX) systems, and all controlling equipment. Justification for single source acquisition (what is necessary and unique about the product, service or source; steps taken to confirm unavailability of competition, as appropriate): Johnson Controls, Inc., has been maintaining the Department's HVAC system since 1996 when it was installed under an Energy Services Contract. The Metasys Automation System, which is part of the Department's HVAC, is large with complex networked systems requiring a high level of Metasys product and networking knowledge. As such, only Johnson Control, Inc., technicians can work on the Department's HVAC and Metasys Automation System as they're factory-trained and certified in routine and comprehensive tasks specific to the Metasys product line. Johnson Controls, Inc., is the sole provider of the Department's HVAC equipment and maintenance, and Metasys Automation System, as it's a patented product of Johnson Controls, Inc.
