Site work for a water / sewer project in Vail, Colorado. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive irregularities or informalities in any bid. The work to be performed generally includes: Installation of a new water service main from the tie-in location at the existing 14" ductile water main at West Thomas Place to the termination at the current Village Hall service line location near the Village Hall mechanical room within the utility and access tunnel corridor. The new water service main (pipe and fittings) is to be constructed of 8" DR11 HDPE, with a total alignment length of roughly 490'. The new water service main will use a combined installation approach, with roughly 260' installed as pre-insulated pipe at 48" cover by a conventional direct-bury approach, and roughly 230' as uninsulated HDPE installed as a carrier pipe within the existing 14" ductile iron water main that is to be repurposed as a casing pipe. The existing ductile main is located at roughly 8' of cover. The project involves abandonment of the existing unused portion of ductile main by completely filling with pumped grout. The annular space between the outside of the 8" DR11 HDPE carrier pipe and inside of the 14" ductile casing pipe shall also be completely grout filled. The contractor shall bear the responsibility of traffic control, construction dewatering, maintenance of a temporary water service to the Village Hall Condominiums, and patching of concrete and asphalt pavement surfaces that are disturbed as part of construction. Bids shall be submitted on a lump sum basis. Copies of the Drawings, Specifications and other Contract Documents for use in preparing. Copies of the Drawings and Project Specifications are also on file and may be examined at the Engineer's address during normal working hours. Each Bidder shall file with his Bid a cashier's check, or a Bid Bond, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The Bidder to whom a Contract is awarded will be required to furnish a Performance, Payment and Warranty Bond guaranteeing faithful performance. No Bids may be withdrawn within a period of sixty (60) days after the date Bids are opened. All technical questions should be directed to the attention of Rob Ringle at SGM ((970)384-9049, Email Me). Bids from Bidders not indicated in the Engineer's records to have been in attendance at the Prebid Conference will be returned unopened.
