Mechanical, Inc., In the amount of $200,000.00.** The Town of Vail Public Works Department is seeking a Time and Material proposal from qualified contractors who can provide a demolition and excavation crew (Crew) to work in the Town of Vail. The purpose of the work is to excavate and expose existing snowmelt mains at various locations within the Vail Village and Lionshead Village, so that the Town may complete snowmelt main repairs. The Work will include demolition and excavation including but not specifically limited to; removal and stacking of pavers and sand, removal of asphalt (saw cutting and jackhammering as necessary), excavation to and around utilities, backfill, clean up and similar type tasks. It is anticipated that the Work will include excavating approximately a dozen small excavations that will be approximately three to four feet deep, with a couple excavations being approximately six feet deep. If successful and agreeable by both parties, the contract may be extended to future work phases. Respondents are asked to submit a proposal containing their qualifications, experience, staff and equipment availability, and hourly rates for one Crew that shall specifically consist of; (1) Operator (Backhoe/Front End Loader provided) (1 or 2) Laborers Respondents may also submit additional standard Time and Material rates for other potential needs. However, at this time, the Town will plan on providing all other necessary equipment and material. Each Crew member must provide their own Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) each day, and at least one of the Crew members must be qualified to supervise and give direction to the remainder of the Crew when necessary. The Town of Vail will provide an on-site Construction Manager who will give direction to the Crew throughout each workday and manage/provide all other necessary material and equipment for use by the Crew as necessary to complete the directed work. The Town of Vail Construction Manager will also coordinate and schedule all other necessary sub-contractor trades to complete the work. The successful firm shall hold pricing for the term of the contract. The Town of Vail reserves the right to waive any irregularities and to reject any and all proposals on any basis without disclosing the reason.
