The work is known officially as "Brookfield Rd Bike Path Project No. BP-19-01" and shall consist of furnishing and installing all necessary improvements as specified in the construction documents, in accordance with the requirements of the Board of Public Works. The installation of approximately 600 lineal feet of 6 feet wide asphalt bike path, and erosion control, traffic control and restoration (asphalt patching, landscaping, etc.). Also includes concrete handicap ramp installation at a separate location a half mile north of the bike path location. A bidders qualification statement available electronically or by contacting the Director of Public Works, must be delivered to the City of Brookfield at least five (5) days before the bid opening date. The proposal form furnished by the City shall be properly executed by the bidder. Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond or Certified Check payable to the City of Brookfield equal to five percent (5%) of the largest possible total bid or bids, including consideration of alternates. The successful bidder's failure to execute the contract and furnish the performance bond within ten (10) days after the award shall cause the Check or Bid Bond to be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages (Section 62.15(3), Wisconsin Statutes). The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any minor informality or irregularity in bids received. All proposals shall remain firm and may not be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days after the opening date.
