BF 00940 carries Township Road (TR) 320 (also known as Bergen Road) over Dogpound Creek, approximately 18 km northwest of Didsbury, Alberta. The crossing provides access to local residents, agricultural operations, the and oil & gas industry, and serves as an east-west connector between Provincial Highways 2 and 22 within MVC. The three-span (8.5 m - 18.3 m - 8.5 m) bridge was constructed to its current configuration in 1959, and consists of a historic steel pony truss (originally dating from 1908), with treated timber approach spans, and a clear width of approximately 7.3 m. The scope of work generally includes, but is not limited to, the following: Traffic Accommodation for Bridge Construction; Total Suspended Solids (TSS) Testing; Removal and appropriate disposal of existing three-span (8.5 m timber – 18.3 m steel pony truss -8.5 m timber) bridge; Construction of new three-span (10 m – 14 m – 10 m) SLW girder bridge with steel spill through type abutments and H-pile piers; Supply and installation of guardrail and bridgerail; Heavy Rock Riprap – Class 1/Class 1M; Water and Environmental Management; Roadway work - raised vertical profile, associated sideslope improvements, and paving.
