The Town of Didsbury (herein after called the Town) requests through this Request for Proposal (herein after called the RFP) submissions for a consultant for a Pedestrian Connectivity Master Plan for the Town of Didsbury. This RFP will be conducted with the objective of maximizing benefits for the Town of Didsbury while offering Proponents a fair and equitable opportunity to participate. The Town intends to retain a qualified consultant to prepare a Pedestrian Connectivity Master Plan (Plan) to map out a network of walkways, including trails, pathways, and sidewalks that will connect throughout the town and to address the rehabilitation and development needs of existing pathways. The Plan shall be created with the purpose of providing more community space; granting universal accessibility for all users; creating safe connections for youth to travel to schools and playgrounds; steering foot-traffic towards the downtown core and other surrounding businesses; considering different users of the trails (i.e. specific bike paths); and directing traffic flow through clear markings and signage. The outcomes of this plan will help inform the Town's operational and capital multi-year plans and determine the capital funding requirements for the walkways in Didsbury. This project is funded in part by the Government of Canada and is expected to begin early November, 2022 and conclude on or before April 30, 2023. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this time.
