The council approved a $956,000 bid from Superior Landscaping & Lawn Service Inc. for work on Estero's portion of U.S. 41. Councilors increased that project budget from about $1.2 million to $1.36 million dollars. The increase adds $95,000 in contingency funds in case of unexpected costs, the village said. FDOT would reimburse the village $766,000 for the U.S. 41 landscaping project, according to an agreement between Estero and the state agency. The council agreed to allow village staff to begin negotiations with Tetra Tech Inc. for engineering work related to U.S. 41 landscaping. As of June 27, 2019, the city council approved a bid from Superior Landscaping & lawn service and is negotiating with Tetra Tech or engineering work related to US 41 landscaping.
