Site work and paving for a road / highway in Pikeville, Kentucky. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

The Rose Damron Slide High Priority Phase 2 AML Reclamation Project consists of removing earthen material and construction of a type 2, non-reinforced block wall to stabilize the slide. The project site is located in the community of Henry Clay, within the Hellier Quadrangle, at 37 18' 51" N, 82 28' 30" W. The site acreage is approximately 2.1 acres. The project will consist of excavation of material to construct a 10.5' type 2, non-reinforced wall with subdrain, the installation of a swale ditch lined with concete block tie mat, replacement of a used tire retaining wall with a gabion retaining wall, replacement of various culverts providing drainage from the site with larger HPDE pipes. An out building will need to be removed to establish drainage control and provide access to the slide area. Waste material will be trucked to the waste area. The project site has been previously disturbed by coal mining operations, house seat development, road construction, landowner disturbances, and/or utility installation. The disturbances consist of significant upheaval, mixing, and removal of earthen material from excavation, grading, subsurface drilling, fill material placement and erosion. There are no undisturbed earthen material to a depth of several feet at the site slated for significant project related construction activities. Trees 3" in diameter or more at breast height will not require removal outside of the unstable slide area. Construction disturbances will be kept to a minimum with a stringently formulated sediment and erosion control program that includes straw bales and silt fence. Prior to beginning any major earth disturbance, all silt control measures will be installed. All areas disturbed by construction activities are to be revegetated in accordance with regional, regulatory, and project standards, using agricultural limestone, fertilizer, seed and mulch, as needed. Prompt re-vegetation will be implemented by using agricultural limestone, fertilizer, seed, netting and/or mulch, as needed, for the areas disturbed by the project, in accordance with standard AML design specifications. Access to the site is via county roads, and residentially maintained driveways and yards. This project will include pre- and/or post- project maintenance and repair of existing previously constructed public county roads utilized during the construction of this project, which are administered by the county or local road authority. This construction activity will be conducted under the authority and supervision of the local public road authority and will consist of standard road construction practices appropriate to mitigate impacts to the local community from potential degraded road conditions in order to maintain public traffic safety. Right To Reject The Division of Engineering and Contract Administration, Commonwealth of Kentucky, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all informalities and/or technicalities where the best interest of the Commonwealth may be served. Take the exit for KY 195. Turn right onto KY 195 at the end of the exit ramp, follow KY 195 for 4.4 miles, turn right onto Henry Clay St. The waste area and meeting place will be on the right.
