Demolition and site work for a fire / police facility in Leominster, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the demolition of a fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.

The Contractor will be responsible for the complete demolition and removal of all debris from the demolition sites of the City-owned structures as described under the section titled "Job Site". The Contractor will completely demolish all buildings/structures, including any contents within any of the buildings. It should be noted that the 3-decker residential structure at 106 Central Street contains quite a large quantity of personnel belongings, furniture, etc., that is to be removed with the other demolition debris. The Contractor is responsible for the proper and legal removal & disposal of all demolition debris. All concrete foundations, man-made foundation materials, and/or natural rock walls/foundations must be completely removed and disposed of before Clean Fill is added to the cellar holes. If any granite block is discovered / uncovered in any of the basement foundations, those granite blocks will remain the property of the City of Leominster and are to be set aside at the demolition site. Granite window sills found in the windows of any of the buildings may be disposed of by the Contractor. The Contractor is responsible for providing Clean Fill and completely filling in & compacting all basement holes at each demolition location. Contractor is to smooth out any uneven areas directly abutting any basement hole so that no sharp/steep drop-offs remain. See Bid Submission Form for required Clean Fill quantities. Clean Fill is not required for the 124 Central Street location, nor any compaction work. The Contractor is responsible for disconnection / removal of all utilities that are connected to any of the structures at all demolition sites. For water and sewer line connections, the Contractor is only responsible for disconnecting those services at the following sites; 106, 112, and 124 Central Street. The Leominster DPW will be responsible for disconnecting water & sewer lines at the 16 Cross Street and 15 Carter Street sites. The Contractor is still responsible for disconnection of all other utilities at the Cross Street and Carter Street locations. The successful bidder will be bound by all applicable statutory provisions of laws of the Federal Government, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and of the City of Leominster. Bids that are incomplete, not properly endorsed or signed, or are otherwise contrary to these instructions may be rejected as informal by the Purchasing Agent. Conditional bids will not be accepted. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any irregularities, to allow exceptions to the attached specifications and to make an award in a manner deemed in the best interest of the City. If, at the time of the scheduled bid opening, Leominster City Hall is closed due to inclement weather or another unforeseeable event, the bid opening will be extended until 2:00 P.M. on the next normal business day that City Hall is open. Bids would be accepted until that extended date and time. As provided by Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 64H, section 6(d), purchases made by the City of Leominster are exempt from the payment of Federal Excise Taxes and Massachusetts Sales Tax; any such taxes must not be included in the quoted price. The successful bidder will not be permitted to either assign or underlet the contract nor assign either legally or equitably, any monies hereunder, or it's claim thereto, without the prior written consent of the Purchasing Agent of the City. All submitted bids and associated bid prices must be guaranteed to the City of Leominster for a period of thirty (30) days from the bid submission date. The proposal for this work must cover all contingencies, including all labor, equipment, materials, transportation, disposal, etc., necessary for the execution of services required by the City of Leominster. 1.106 Central Street -- multi family residence, three story building. 2. 112 Central Street -- single family residence, two story building. 3. 124 Central Street -- concrete warehouse, one story building, high ceiling. 4. 16 Cross Street -- former school, two story building, brick exterior. 5. 15 Carter Street -- single family residence, two story building Bidders who wish to inspect the interior of the structures (except Carter Street) are directed to contact Marina Proietti, Leominster Building Dept., 978-962-3569, or by e-mail at mmenchi@leominster-ma..
