The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, Wilmington District requires a contract to provide maintenance dredging of the Morehead City Harbor federal navigation channel including Range B, Range C, East Leg, West Leg, Northwest Leg, North Carolina State Ports Authority berth areas, and Aviation Fuel and Barge docks. The work will consist of removal and disposal of shoaled material that has accumulated in the channels and berth areas since the various areas were last dredged. The work will require a hydraulic cutter suction dredge. Dredging depths range from 12' plus 2' of allowable overdepth to 45' plus 2' of allowable overdepth. The estimated quantity of material to be dredged is 1,000,000 cubic yards. The Government furnished disposal area for Range B dredged material is Fort Macon and Atlantic Beaches. The Government furnished disposal area for dredged material from all other channel reaches, berth and dock areas is the Brandt Island upland diked disposal area. The environmental window for dredging the North Carolina State Ports Authority berth areas and Aviation Fuel and Barge docks is 1 October to 31 March. The environmental window for placement of dredged material on the beach is 16 November to 30 April. The contract issued will be Firm Fixed Price. The Magnitude of Construction of this project is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The bid opening date will be specified in the solicitation when it is issued.
