The City of Redmond, WA is seeking proposals from qualified firms, individuals, and organizations to develop an Environmental Sustainability Study to review current activities and develop a list of sustainability projects and programs that can enhance the Citys reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and advance integration of sustainable practices into the overall organization in a systematic, coordinated, and financially responsible manner. The selected Consultant will work with City staff and the community to develop a comprehensive, robust, and innovative Environmental Sustainability Study that will: Clearly explain the Citys sustainability challenges and the challenges and opportunities it faces in meeting more ambitious sustainability goals; Serve as a mechanism to tie together the Citys existing and developing sustainability initiatives, strategies, and plans with the communitys goals; and Establish a set of cohesive sustainability strategies, implementation plans, timelines, and metrics for measuring progress and for improving the Citys sustainability and its contribution to regional and State strategies. The Environmental Sustainability Study will function as a roadmap to enhance Redmond as an environmentally healthy, economically strong, and socially fair community to live, work, play, and invest. The Study will be a long-term plan, developed through extensive stakeholder outreach effort, to help the City organize its environmental portfolio and help the community realize its collective sustainability vision.
