Renovation of an educational facility in Columbus, Ohio. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The work consists of the removal and replacement of existing fire alarm systems in Morrill Tower with new, addressable systems, replacement of the resident advisor intercom system, and addition of a building DAS (distributed antenna system). Related work includes the addition of a fire command center on the first floor, hazardous materials abatement related directly to the scope of work in the contract documents other than the resident sleeping rooms, and patching/painting of walls at removed equipment. Provide overall project management and coordination with the abatement contractor efforts in the resident dormitory pods. EDGE Participation Goal: 5% of contract The Board of Trustees of The Ohio State University reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. Bidders are encouraged to be enrolled in and to be in good standing in a Drug-Free Safety Program ("DFSP") approved by the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation ("OBWC") prior to submitting a Bid and provide, on the Electronic Bid Form with its Bid, certain information relative to their enrollment in such a program; and, if awarded a Contract, shall comply with other DFSP criteria described in Section 1.6 of the General Conditions. Electronic bids will be received for: Trade Estimate General Contract.......................................................$1,780,000.00 Alternate 1 ...................................................................$18,500.00 Alternate ...................................................................$852,500.00 The Contracting Authority has a goal to provide 5% opportunity for EDGE certified companies to perform work on the Contracting Authority's prime contracts. Apparent Low Bidders that are incapable of identifying 5% of work on prime contracts for fulfillment by EDGE certified companies must complete all sections of the Demonstration of Good Faith form. The apparent low bidder shall thoroughly document its efforts to identify work for EDGE certified companies. The apparent low bidder may request the owner to waive the 5% participation goal in part or in total. The apparent low bidder shall submit a Request for Waiver on company letterhead. The Apparent Low Bidder shall address the following in its Request for Waiver: o Describe in overall terms the conditions that prevented the Apparent Low Bidder from providing 5% of the work on the prime contract to EDGE certified companies, o Identify what percentage of the work on the prime contract is suitable for performance by EDGE certified firms, o Request the Contracting Authority to waive the 5% participation goal in part or in total. The percentage is determined by the contracted value of goods, services, materials, and labor that are provided by EDGEcertified business(es). The participation is calculated on the total amount of each awarded contract. The Bidder may be subject to a Pre-Award Affirmative Action Compliance Review in accordance with Section 123:2-5-01 of the Ohio Administrative Code including a review of the Bidder's employment records and an on-site review. The Bidder must indicate on the electronic Bid Form, the locations where its services will be performed in the spaces provided or by attachment in accordance with the requirements of Executive Order 2019-12D related to providing services only within the United States. Failure to do so may cause the Bid to be rejected as non-responsive.
