Project includes invites qualified bidders to submit bids for the preparation of a Playing field area, some grading, chain link fencing, Tree planting and the construction of a block retaining wall. Bidders should be aware that overnight mailing services do not guarantee overnight service to Nantucket. Late postmarks will not be accepted. No less than the prevailing wage rates as set forth in the schedule contained in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project. The Town of Nantucket and Nantucket Public Schools encourages the hiring of local Nantucket contractors and labor for this project. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid amount, inclusive of alternates, must accompany each General Bid. Pre-qualification is not required for this project. There will be NO pre-bid meeting, however, a site walk through can be coordinated with Diane O'Neil, Director of Facilities - Nantucket Public Schools. The successful General Bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and a labor & materials payment bond, each in the amount of 50% of the Contract Price, and of a surety company qualified to do business under the laws of the Commonwealth. The bonds shall name the Town of Nantucket and the Nantucket Public Schools as Owners on the performance bond and labor & materials bond. The Project Awarding Authority is Nantucket Public Schools and the Project Architect is SMRT, Inc, located at 200 Brickstone Square, Suite 303, Andover, MA 01810. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
