Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Ormond Beach, Florida. Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

As of 4/14/2020 shortlisting was postponed until further notice. The scope of services may include, but not be limited to, pre-construction services, construction estimating, value engineering, bid preparation, construction management, generation and update of project schedules, cost control and progress reports. To be eligible for consideration, interested firms must be certified by the School Board and shall hold a current Certification as a Prequalified Contractor prior to the date of submission. Contact the Volusia County Schools Purchasing Department at (386) 947-8786 for the pre-qualification process. After district presentation, question and answer time and a walk around of the Osceola Elementary campus, the meeting will move and continue at Ortona Elementary, 1265 North Grandview Avenue, Daytona Beach Florida, with a tour of that campus. The firm's representative shall be an authorized employee and shall sign-in the meeting accordingly. Only those firms signed-in attendance will be eligible to submit for this project. Representatives must be in attendance at both Osceola Elementary and Ortona Elementary. To be considered, interested firms must submit one (1) original printed and bound submittal and one (1) CD or flash device of the submittal in combined PDF file format in the same order as the printed submittal with corresponding bookmarks for navigation. The School Board of Volusia County Florida reserves the right to waive any informality in the selection process and to reject any or all submittals in the best interest of the District. Osceola Elementary is a K-5 school that includes approximately 60,000 square feet in 13 buildings located on a 13-acre campus on the beachside in Ormond Beach. Many of the buildings were constructed between 1954-1960 and are functionally obsolete. Exterior walls, doors and windows are all contributing to significant moisture intrusion issues. Current enrollment is approximately 400 students. The campus includes recreational facilities that are used by the neighborhood and maintained by the City of Ormond Beach through an interlocal agreement with the School Board. Two miles to the south is a 200 student 1950-60 era K-5 school, Ortona Elementary located on an 11 acre parcel, with approximately 42,000 square feet of permanent buildings. Many of the buildings here are also functionally obsolete with exterior walls, doors and windows are all contributing to moisture intrusion issues. It has been suggested that these two schools be consolidated. It has also been suggested that the district consider a possible K-8 option for this new school.
