As of October 13, 2022, this project is in the construction documents phase. Bidding is anticipated to occur in Q1 2023. A firm construction timeline is not available. *The previous solicitation is listed below for reference The County of Fairfax, Virginia, Department of Public Works and Environmental Services (DPWES) is soliciting statements of qualifications from architectural and engineering consulting firms for programming, space planning, design, and construction administration services for the renovations and adaptive reuse of the historic Original Mount Vernon High School (OMVHS) facility and associated sitework, located at 8333 Richmond Highway, Alexandria, VA 22309, in the Mount Vernon Magisterial District (Tax Map #101-4-((1))-0005A and 101-4-((7))-0001). The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors owns the 10.6-acre property housing the facility. The existing structure, built in 1939 with additions in the 1950s and renovations in the 1980s, is a classic example of Colonial Revival Architecture and sits on land that was once part of the estate of President George Washington. The property is currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places and in the Virginia Landmarks Register. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
