Alexandria Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrades (Countywide): This is a continuing project that supports the County's estimated share of improvements at the Alexandria Treatment Plant. Fairfax County's share is estimated to be $289,159,000 through FY 2034. This project includes the replacement and rehabilitation of existing treatment process facilities and facilities to handle wet weather flows in order to avoid sanitary sewer overflows. The Alexandria Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrades and Rehabilitation project, known as WW-000013, is part of the larger RiverRenew initiative by AlexRenew. This initiative includes multiple projects aimed at improving Alexandria's wastewater infrastructure. Project is included in Fairfax County - Planning & Zoning Fiscal Year 2025-2029. As of May 13, 2025, this project has been ongoing for several years. Engineer team not identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
