With the growth of the community and police department, the town is experiencing space limitations at the main police facility. As a result, operations and efficiency have been impacted with closets and work space being converted into other needed uses. This project includes plans to add space for operations, administrative functions and the Communications Center. The conceptual plan adds two stories of office space above the current administrative parking lot (east side) over a secured police parking lot. The first level above that would align with the existing second story of the building and would be finished into office space for administrative functions. The second level would be unfinished or shell space and allow for future growth. The existing administrative offices space would be renovated to allow for a doubling in size of the existing Communications Center and the addition of related office and workspace. As of November 9, 2023, this project is included in the Town of Apex's 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and funding is allotted for future years beyond FY 27-28. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
