Demolition, site work, new construction, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Completed plans call for the construction of a 485,000-square-foot educational facility.
This project obtained bond approval. Now that funding has been obtained, the district will now begin to develop plans and timelines. A general contractor and architect have been selected. The design phase will last at least 12 months, with construction beginning in the Fall of 2020. The bond proposal is for 485,000 square feet of additional space, including a new elementary school in Hugo and a 375,000-square-foot addition to White Bear Lake Area High School North Campus. The North Campus expansion would put students in grades 9-12 under the same roof. At present, underclassmen study at the North Campus while juniors and seniors attend classes at the South Campus. Other plans call for security improvements and to updated classrooms. *The construction manager will bid these projects out separately.
