Saving Project...

Site work for a mixed-use development in Portage, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility; and water / sewer project.

For Rail Expansion Project (Burns Harbor) The contract work is part of the MARAD FY 17 FASTLANE Grant Project, specifically Segments A2, B1 and B2, which consists of installing approximately 16,800' of new track for the East and West Railyards and 2,000' of track for the new connection from the Norfolk Southern railyard to the Port of Indiana-Burns Harbor via an easement through US Steel. The scope of work includes new rail, turnouts, rail crossings, drainage improvements, excavation, and all other work required to complete the project. Bids shall be submitted on the proper bid form and delivered in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the bidders, all as described in the Instructions to Bidders, which accompanies the specifications. A Bidder's Bond, made payable to the Ports of Indiana must be enclosed with the bid. Said bond shall be in the minimum amount of five percent of the maximum bid. The contract for this work shall be awarded to the lowest and best bidder who submits a bid for the performance of the work, however, the Ports of Indiana reserves the right to reject any or all bids at its discretion. The Contractor shall furnish and pay for an approved one hundred fifty percent (150%) combination performance and payment bond covering the faithful performance of the Contract and the payment of all obligations arising thereunder and to remain in effect for a period of one year from the date of final acceptance of the work, with such sureties as the Owner may approve.
