In summary, the project includes the construction of: 1. Electrical lighting improvements within Founders Square Park. Project will be under a single prime contract. All materials furnished and labor performed incident to and required for the proper and satisfaction accordance with the requirements of the contract documents as defined in the General Conditions of the Construction Contract, and any addenda tory execution of the contracts shall be furnished and performed in ac thereto, prepared by the Architect, DLZ Indiana, LLC. Bids must be submitted on the pre- scribed State Board of Accounts Form No. 96 together with all attachments, the entire set of which shall be filed intact as a bid. The successful bidder will be required to pay laborers, workmen, mechanics, and other employees on the work under this contract per the provisions of the City of Portage Responsible Bidders Ordinance. Each bidder shall accompany their sealed proposal with the proper bid security made payable to the City of Portage, Indiana-Redevelopment Commission, as follows: Any person, firm, or corporation who submits a proposal and has a principal place of business in the State of Indiana MUST submit a BOND in the amount equal to ten percent (10%) of their total bid amount (inclusive of all additive alternates). In addition to the Bid Bond, an out-of-state contractor and/or subcontractor will be obligated to show proof that they are registered with the Secretary of State to conduct business in the State of Indiana. The successful bidder will be required to furnish Contract Performance and Payment Bonds for 100% of their contract amount prior to execution of contracts. Bonds shall be maintained in accordance with IC 36-1-12-13.1 and 36-1-12- 14. Bonds shall be in full force and effect for a period of at least 12 months after the date of final completion of the Contract. Should the contractor's bonding company give notice of cancellation the contractor will be responsible for securing new bonds prior to termination. Bids may be held by the City of Por- tage for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of bid opening: no Contractor may withdraw their proposal within that time. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any bid and to waive any irregularities in bidding. Representatives of the Owner and Architect will be present to discuss project overview, construction sequence, bid requirements, and contractor staging areas. All prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to attend.
