Site work and new construction of an educational facility in State College, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the construction of a 134,800-square-foot educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

As of August 22, 2022 project construction just started earlier this month, August 2022, and will be completed in September 2024. The building will be approximately 134,800 sq. ft. and contain general purpose classrooms, instructional laboratories, dry (data driven) research space, wet (fume hood) research space, museum/collections space, faculty offices, graduate offices and administrative support areas. The LARTB will be located between the Donald H. Ford Building and Mateer Building, along West Park Avenue.. The building will house: - Several College of the Liberal Arts academic departments, including Anthropology, Sociology & Criminology, Political Science and the School of Public Policy - Population ResearchInstitute - School of International Affairs - General Instructional Classrooms - Matson Museum of Anthropology The building will contain general-purpose classrooms, instructional laboratories, dry (data driven) and wet (fume hood) research space, museum/collections space, faculty and graduate student offices, and administrative support areas. The various Departments identified in the building program will be relocated from their current locations, in various other facilities, into the new building upon completion. No project swing space will be required. The new building will be located on a prominent "campus edge" site, located between the Donald H. Ford Building and Mateer Building, along W. Park Ave (see attached). Site constraints and opportunities include: existing campus buildings (including the tall, adjacent Ford Building); active existing pedestrian pathways and road network; "campus edge" condition; limited area for service access; a number of mature trees on the site; underground site utilities, and building setback requirements plus height limitations. As part of this same project and upon completion of the new LARTB, the existing Oswald Tower Building, located on "central" Campus, will be demolished and the site restored to "green space." No formal site visits or tours will be provided at this stage.
