Bid security in the form of a bid bond, certified check, or cash in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid amount shall be submitted with the bid. Should a bid bond be submitted, the bid bond shall be payable to the Board of Trustees, Moraine Valley Community College. The College reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof, or waive any irregularities or informalities, and to make the award in the best interest of the College. Decisions of the College will be final. G. Minority and Women Owned Businesses are highly encouraged to participate. This Contract calls for the construction of a "public work," within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq. ("the Act"). The Act Requires contractors and subcontractors to pay laborers, workers and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the "prevailing rate of wages" (hourly cash wages plus fringe benefits) in the county where the work is performed. All contractors and subcontractors rendering services under this contract must comply with all requirements of the Act, including, but not limited to, all wage, notice, record keeping duties, and related Equal Employment Opportunity Laws. Failure to comply with said Act will result in penalties and fines.
