Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Huntington, West Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility; for the construction of a 250,000-square-foot parking garage; and parking garage.
The Project consists of a new 4 level parking garage consisting of a precast concrete structure to be constructed on auger cast pile foundations. The new structure will be located within the block bounded by 15th Street, Charleston Avenue, and Columbia Avenue in the medical campus of Marshall University in Huntington, WV. The site is an existing surface parking lot. The parking garage is designed to accommodate approximately 700 cars. The approximate interior Project area of all floors is 250,000 square feet. Work includes site demolition, storm water detention and bioretention systems, utility relocation coordination, auger cast pile foundations, precast concrete structure (columns, beams, spandrels, litewalls, shear walls, double-tee floors, stair and elevator towers, stairs), elevators, plumbing, mechanical, electrical power and lighting. Bidding Documents; to reject any condition of the Bid by a Bidder that is in any way inconsistent with the requirements, terms and conditions of the Bidding Documents; or to reject a Bid that is in any way incomplete or irregular. Bids may not be modified or withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after receipt of Bids without forfeiture of Bid security, not as a penalty but as liquidated damages. The successful Bidder will be required to execute a Contract, provide a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond for 100% of the contract award, comply with all of the rules and regulations of the West Virginia Workers' Compensation Fund, and provide evidence of insurance coverage to the minimum limits required by the Contract Documents. The successful Bidder and all Subcontractors must pay the higher of the U.S. Department of Labor minimum wage rates or the West Virginia Department of Labor wage rates as established for Cabell County, pursuant to West Virginia Code 21-5-1 et. seq. Any work performed or any material contracted for prior to receipt of the Owner's written Notice to Proceed and/or Purchase Order shall be at the Bidder's risk. The Bidder, if successful and awarded a Contract, agrees that all Work is to be Substantially Complete by 7 January 2021 and agrees to achieve Final Completion by 28 January 2021.
