Renovation of a municipal facility in Hinton, Alberta. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Work Covered By Contract Documents 1 The main works are included in this Contract as follow: 1 Replace the air handling system with a new air handling unit. 2 Replace two (2) existing boilers with two (2) new condensing boilers. 3 The existing controls system will be replaced. 4 Replace the existing chiller and fluid cooler with a new condensing unit. 5 Replace all the existing VAV's with new digital VAV boxes. 6 Remediate hazardous materials. Work of this Contract is comprised of Phase 1, and at the discretion of the Province Phase 2: Phase 1 includes the following: 1 Remove existing air delivery system to the Courthouse including fans, preheat coil, cooling coil, ductwork, dampers, and sensors. Install a new Package Air Handling Unit (AHU), which shall be pad-mounted and installed outdoors. Install a new supply and return air ductwork to building air systems. Selective ductwork demolition and replacement required. Install new duct insulation. 2 Remove the existing chiller, pumps, and associated piping and insulation. This system will be replaced with a new condensing unit (packaged with new AHU) for the ventilation/cooling system. 3 Replace existing glycol preheat coil pump, heat exchanger, preheat heating water pump, and associated piping and insulation. Install with new pumps and heat exchanger for new AHU. Insulate new piping. 4 Replace all terminal boxes, zone control valves (for finned radiation and force flow) and all associated thermostats within the courthouse. 5 Remove existing pneumatic controls system and provide a new digital controls system complete with operator workstation. The new BMS system will be provided with new hardware and software and will be able to monitor/control the ventilation, heating, and cooling systems as well as the VAV and room temperatures in the building. 6 The Facility was built in 1977 and has asbestos based piping insulation. This was confirmed by an Asbestos Report retained by Alberta Infrastructure and will be made available upon request. All Asbestos Abatement must be completed according to specific and regulated Government Guidelines. Contractor shall use an abatement company that is certified, licensed, insured and competent to remove and dispose of asbestos material. 7 Phase 1 shall be completed and invoiced by May 31, 2020. Phase 2, if commenced, will include the following: 1 Replace existing boilers, heating circulation pumps, valves, insulation, flue vents and accessories in the Mechanical Room with a new Condensing Boiler System in order to have a fully operational boiler plant to suit the building heating systems requirements. Modify existing power wiring and controls wiring to suit the new boilers installation. Relocate existing domestic hot water heater and install new flue vent. Repair and make good the existing chimney penetration. 2 Boilers to interface with the new ECMS programming and graphics to operate the units as per boiler plants sequence of operation. 3 Modify existing natural gas piping to suite the new boilers installation and new domestic hot water heater location. 4 The Facility was built in 1977 and has asbestos based piping insulation.
