Renovation of a detention facility in Nelsonville, Ohio. Design plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
As of December 29, 2021, funding has just been approved and design work began this month. A schedule for bidding has not been announced but construction is anticipated to begin late 2022. *The original solicitation is listed below for reference. --- The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections (ODRC) through the Bureau of Adult Detention is responsible for the management of the Flocking Correctional Institution in Flocking County. The existing Flocking Correctional Facility (HCF) will be leased to Hocking County to be used as a women's jail and a community based correctional facility (CBCF). The CBCF program will utilize the largest portion of the 1st floor and will reguire modifications to the floor plan to accommodate offices and programming space. The women jail will operate on all three floors of the main building and will include: Administrative Area for processing offenders into the jail (1 st Floor) Kitchen (1st Floor) Areas to house offenders (2nd and 3rd floors, approximately 100 offenders per floor) In order to meet the reguirements of the Bureau of Adult Detention modifications will need to be made to the 2nd and 3rd floors. Improvements to the HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire suppression will be reguired throughout the building to accommodate the new use Submit all guestions regarding this RFQ in writing to Jill Hoobler at procurement@ofcc.ohio.gov
