*The solicitation is listed below for reference. --- The Buffalo Public Schools (BPS) is pursuing opportunities to relocate the Middle Early College High School (MECHS) currently located at Bennett High school to a new facility within walking distance SUNY Erie (Erie Community College, downtown Buffalo campus) at 121 Ellicott Street, Buffalo, NY 14203. MECHS is a five year program that provides students the opportunity to enroll in classes at SUNY Erie and ultimately graduate with an Associate’s Degree. This proposal is seeking owners/ developers that will provide the district with a new facility in either an existing structure or a new building. The facility will be leased to the district over a 15 year period. As stated the school will be a 9-12 high school and will contain all of the necessary spaces and equipment to provide an education comparable to other Buffalo public high schools. Student population is assumed to be approximately 400 students. As this program is a collaboration with SUNY Erie, students will use certain program spaces at the college’s campus and will not be needed in the new proposed facility. This spaces include an auditorium, gymnasium and athletic support spaces, a library and chemistry labs. As of March 14, 2022, the issuance of short-listed firms has not been released.
