This project consists of the design, procurement, and installation of one (1) playground system including fall zone and geotextile fabric at Wooton Wonderland located at the east end of Wooton Park 100 E. Ruby Street Tavares, Florida 32778.The playground design should embrace an adventure theme; including seaplane, boat and possibly railroad aspects. Work is to include the demolition, custom design and build of a play system within the existing playground area at the park per the attached Exhibit A, and installation of commercial-grade playground equipment including all necessary footings, poured in place landing surfaces geotextile fabric and engineered wood fiber fall zone material. Bidder should be aware that the demolition, removal, and disposal of infrastructure currently in place is the sole responsibility of the applicant; including the existing Wooton Wonderland playground component and golf cart parking area. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any and/or all proposals or parts of proposals, to workshop or negotiate any and all proposals, to waive irregularities and to request new proposals for the required materials or services. The target total dollar amount allocated for the play system, engineered wood fiber, and geotextile installation is in a range between $585,000 and $617,500. Bidders should consider how best to add to or subtract from the design if necessary. Any proposal exceeding the budgeted amount will be rejected. The City of Tavares, Florida (City) is inviting the submission of proposals from qualified vendors for a Wooton Park Playground Rebuild. To achieve these goals, the City will work with the selected vendor to develop the replacement for the existing Wooton Park Wonderland playground that was created by volunteers from the City of Tavares. The following project includes two areas of improvements; the Wooton Wonderland Playground and the Wooton Splashpad. See plans for the project location and area. The City of Tavares is located 31 miles northwest of Orlando and serves as the county seat of Lake County, Florida. The City occupies 9.06 square miles of the county and is positioned between four major lakes; Lake Dora, Lake Eustis, Lake Harris, and Little Lake Harris. In 2006, The City of Tavares engaged in an eighteen-month visioning process which produced an abundance of positive dialog and an evolution of creative ideas contributed by many community members. This dialog resulted in the creation of a vision statement for the city and a comprehensive master plan to guide the city's future revitalization efforts and ultimately an identity/branding effort which resulted in the creation of the brand "America's Seaplane City" and distinctive logo which were copyrighted and trademarked through the U.S. patent and trademark office.
