Paving for a road / highway in Topeka, Kansas. Conceptual plans call for paving for a road / highway.
This project reconstructs Huntoon between Gage and Harrison. A concept plan will be completed in 2023 that will identify utility (both public and private) conflict points as well as their conditions along with phasing options and any significant budgetary concerns. Design is scheduled to start in 2024 with Right of Way and utility relocations occurring 2025. Roadway construction is scheduled to occur from 2026 through 2028.Project construction will be accelerated to a 2-year window if possible. As of July 12, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2022-2027 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2026. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2026. A detailed scope of work has not been disclosed.
