Demolition, site work, asbestos abatement and new construction of an educational facility in Abilene, Texas. Completed plans call for the demolition of a 58,000-square-foot educational facility; for the construction of a 101,000-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; and for asbestos abatement for a educational facility.
As of October 21, 2020, construction has begun and all trades have been let. Construction of the new Dyess Elementary School for Abilene ISD, which is a 104,536 SF project including all associated sitework. Upon completion of the new school, this project also includes abatement and demolition of the existing 58,000 SF school and associated sitework. The project includes the following ALTERNATES: 1) Salvage existing gymnasium, 2) Memorial park, 3) Folding panel partitions, 4) Main entry sidewalk lights, 5) Sandblasting concrete flatwork, 6) Aluminum bus canopy, 7) RTU efficiency rating change, and 8) Upgrade bus drive to concrete. Bidders must submit pricing for alternates pertaining to their scope(s) of work. The project also includes a UNIT PRICE to install sod instead of seeded grass, so landscape bidders must provide the requested unit pricing. *This project has been updated for historical data and reference purposes.
