Site work and renovation of a water / sewer project in Renton, Washington. Working plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

As of March 27, 2025, this project is in design. Information regarding a general contractor has not been disclosed. A firm timeline of construction has not been reached. Closed solicitation has been included below for reference. .............. King County WTD has a comprehensive strategy to prepare conveyance and treatment facilities for the probable impacts of natural disasters. This strategy is described within Final Resiliency Recommendations (HDR, 2018), one of two reports prepared for WTD within Recommendations to Enhance the Resiliency and Recovery of King County's Regional Wastewater Treatment Facilities. The Final Resiliency Recommendations report provides a preliminary assessment of WTD facilities that face the highest risk based on vulnerability and consequence of failure for several natural disaster events. The Final Resiliency Recommendations report identifies the SP IPS as one of the highest priority projects for seismic retrofits. The South Plant has a potential need for its structural retrofits to improve seismic resiliency that meets the current building code. Of particular concern are the precast concrete "Z" purlins at the roof of the South Plant IPS, which are at risk of collapse during a significant seismic event. Collapse of the roof structure would likely result in the South Plant IPS becoming inoperable. In November 2018 through May 2019, WTD worked with Gray & Osborne (G&O) to complete a project formulation, which recommended seismic improvements of the South Plant IPS building. The summary of the report is titled South Plant Influent Pump Station Seismic Upgrades Technical Memorandum 1: Scope Summary (G&O, 2018). A list of activities has been recommended to seismically retrofit the IPS building based on a set of criteria established by American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) guidelines. Attendees are responsible for their own transportation. Parking directions: Follow signs to the Admin Building Attendees must bring personal protective equipment including hardhat, vest, eye protection, sturdy shoes, and should not wear loose items that could get caught in machinery. This meeting is not mandatory.
