This project will include durable paving markings on Westown Parkway from 50th Street to 22nd Street, Buffalo Road from 22nd Street to railroad crossing near 73rd Street, Valley West Drive from Ashworth Road to railroad crossing near EP True Pkwy, 60th Street from railroad crossing near EP True Pkwy to the I-80 off ramp, 28th Street from I-235 Bridge to University Ave, 25th Street from Westown Pkwy to University Ave, and 31st Street from Westown Pkwy to University Ave in the City of West Des Moines. Additionally, this project will include the installation of Bike Sharrow symbols throughout the city. Work on this project will include all material, labor and equipment necessary for the construction of the lane markings, traffic control, cleanup, and miscellaneous work to complete the project. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier's or certified check drawn on an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. If a bid bond is submitted it must be on the form provided with the contract documents. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract and guaranteeing payment to all persons supplying labor and/or materials in the execution of the work provided for in the contract. Work on said project shall commence within ten (10) days of the written notice to proceed and shall be completed by November 2, 2020. Liquidated damages in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per day will be assessed for each day that the work remains uncompleted after the end of the contract period. The City reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive any and/or all technicalities and/or all irregularities.
