Description

New construction of a mixed-use development in San Diego, California. Working plans call for the construction of a recreation facility; stadium; multi-residential development; and playground / park / athletic field.

Plans are underway for the redevelopment of the Pechanga Arena (formerly Sports Arena) site in San Diegos Midway District. The proposed project, known as Midway Rising, includes a new 16,000-seat arena, expansive park space, and a vibrant mix of housing, entertainment, and retail amenities. The development aims to transform the area into a dynamic, walkable community hub. As of June 23, 2025, the City of San Diego has selected the Midway Rising team to lead the project. Environmental reviews are ongoing, and construction is expected to begin in late 2025, pending final approvals. The total estimated value of the project is approximately $2 billion. A General Contractor has not been publicly named.
