Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The Polk County Parks Dept. is accepting bids/proposals from qualified construction contractors to 1. Tear out two layers of decking boards, handrail and deficient wooden abutments 2. Entire Redecking of the bridge replacing any deficient cross members (railroad ties) and deficient wooden abutments. 3. Replace the hand rail 4. Replace the Belt Material over the decking. All materials must be removed from the site and disposed of properly. The bridge is approximately 140 feet long and crosses the Apple River Flowage along the Cattail State trail in Amery. The deadline for vendor questions is April 20, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. CT. Email all questions to Mark Gossman at Mark.Gossman@co.polk.wi.us. Polk County reserves the right to decline to respond to any questions if, in Polk County's assessment, the information cannot be obtained and shared with all potential vendors in a timely manner. The target date for intent to award is April, 22, 2020. All work will be completed on or before November 30, 2020. The PolkCounty Board or its designee reservesthe right to reject any and all proposals, or any proposal which, in their opinion, will be inappropriate to carry out the work under the terms of the contract and to waive any irregularities.
