A prime contractor is subject to qualified health insurance requirements if the prime contract is in theamount of $2,000,000 or greater. A subcontractor is subject to qualified health insurance requirements if the subcontract is in the amount of $1,000,000 or greater Each bidder must submit an electronic bid bond from an approved surety company using UDOT's Electronic Bid System (EBS); or in lieu thereof, cash, certified check, or cashier's check for not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid, made payable to the Utah Department of Transportation, showing evidence of good faith and a guarantee that if awarded the contract, the bidder will execute the contract and furnish the contract bonds as required.
