Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Bristol, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the addition of a educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
As of May 11, 2022, construction is approaching substantial completion. Construction started in June 2020. All bidders whose bids exceed $500,000 shall hold a current DAS Contractor Prequalification Certificate (not a predetermination letter) from the Department of Administrative Services of the State of Connecticut according to Connecticut General Statutes Section 4a-100, 4b-101 and 4b-91. Bidders shall submit with their bids a current Update (bid) Statement. Failure to submit this item with the bid subjects your bid to disqualification. Questions regarding the work or bid shall be made in writing and directed e-mail to D'Amato + Downes JV at bristolbid@downesco.com attn.: Jeffrey S. Anderson - Director of Procurement. The last date for questions is five (5) calendar days prior to the bid due date at 12:00 noon EST. ALL bidders will be required to furnish a 10% Bid Bond or Certified Check along with their bid. Performance and Payment Bonds (100%) will be required. Reference project Documents for additional information. All bidders who are selected to perform this State project must comply with CONN. GEN. STAT. 4a-60, 4a-60a, 4a-60g, and 46a-68b through 46a-68f, inclusive, as amended by June 2015 Special Session Public Act 15-5. An Affirmative Action Plan must be filed with and approved by the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities prior to the commencement of construction. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services ("DAS") under the provisions of CONN. GEN. STAT. 4a-60g, as amended. (25% of the work with DAS certified Small and Minority owned businesses and 25% of that work with DAS certified Minority, Women and/or Disabled owned businesses.) The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals. For municipal public works contracts and quasi-public agency projects, the contractor must file a written or electronic non-discrimination certification with the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities. The State of Connecticut Department of Labor and all associated statutes and regulations shall govern labor wages on this project. The successful bidder shall comply with applicable state and local laws and the State of Connecticut requirements. No bid shall be accepted from any person/company who is in arrears to the Construction Manager (or its subsidiaries) and/or Owner upon debt, or contract, or who is a defaulter as surety or otherwise upon obligations to the Construction Manager and/or Owner. The Trade Packages will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. However, the Construction Manager and Owner reserve the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informalities, irregularities, omissions, or technical defects in the bids if deemed in the best interest of the project. This Project was originally scheduled to bid on April 14 2020, Bid date of 04/14/2020 has been postponed to 04/21/2020. *This project timeline has been extended due to the public health crisis.
