Renovation of an educational facility in Lexington, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The objectives of the Bowman Hall dormer window project includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following line items. These are general statements of the proposed work. 1. Renovating the exteriors of the dormers, 2. Replacing and/or repairing the dormer interior window stool/trim including painting, 3. Replacing the dormer windows, 4. Installing new blinds, 5. Repairing/replacing all soffit damages including the fascia, dentals, and crown molding, 6. Repairing and painting the portico frieze, 7. General renovation of the portico from ceiling to sidewalk, and 8. Renovate the patio deck, patio deck windows, and decorative rails. Bids will be received from Prime Contractors on a Lump Sum Amount for the total project. All phases of the work shall be bid to and through the Prime Contractors. Anyone wishing to discuss specific items within the bid are requested to submit the items in writing to Ken Scott Capital Construction Procurement, no later than 04/16/2020 at 1:00pm. Written questions can be submitted by email to: kesc245@uky.edu and sbowlin@uky.edu or fax to 859.257.1951. Responses to Written Questions received no later than 04/16/2020 at 1:00pm will be provided in an addendum that will be posted on 04/17/2020. The time for substantial completion for all phases shall be One Hundred Eighty (180) Calendar Days and Final Completion shall be Thirty (30) days thereafter. Substantial Completion will include all site restoration completed, site clean-up and fully functional. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the base bid. A 100% Performance Bond and 100% Payment Bond shall be furnished by the successful bidder. All bonding and insurance requirements are contained in the Instruction to Bidders, General Conditions and Special Conditions. The University of Kentucky is committed to increasing the participation of minority business enterprises in construction and renovation projects, and encourages the use of minority subcontractors and material suppliers. The University of Kentucky, Construction Procurement Section, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all formalities and/or technicalities where the best interest of the University may be served. It is the goal of the University of Kentucky that at least 10.9% of the contract dollar amount be completed by minority owned contractors and businesses and at least 6.9% of the total contract amount be completed by women owned contractors and businesses.
