Demolition and site work for an educational facility in Lexington, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the demolition of a one-story above grade educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
White Hall Classroom Building This project includes selective demolition for architectural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing items for the restrooms at the eastern wing of the classroom building on floors 1, 2, and 3. This will include the removal of all floor, wall, and ceiling finishes, plumbing fixtures, electrical fixtures, and chase walls for plumbing. Extensive demolition will also occur at the west end of the building on the lower level, where the existing restrooms, showers, and locker room will be gutted, including removal of all floor, wall, and ceiling finishes, as well as plumbing fixtures and electrical fixtures. The demolition as part of this bid pack will ready the building for new work, to be issued in subsequent bid packages. Patterson Office Tower 18 th Floor This project includes selective demolition for architectural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing items for the 18th floor of Patterson office Tower. This will include the selective removal of all floor, wall, and ceiling finishes, plumbing fixtures, electrical fixtures, as well as other building elements. The demolition as part of this bid pack will ready the building for new work, to be issued in subsequent bid packages. Bids will be received from Prime Contractors on a Lump Sum Amount for the total project. All phases of the work shall be bid to and through the Prime Contractors. Bids shall be submitted in the manner herein described and on the official proposal form included with the conditions and specifications and shall be subject to all the conditions as set forth and described in the Bid Documents. Bids shall be submitted only on the Official Forms supplied by the University of Kentucky, Construction Procurement Section. Failure to comply with the foregoing requirements will be cause for invalidation of bid. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the base bid. A 100% Performance Bond and 100% Payment Bond shall be furnished by the successful bidder. All bonding and insurance requirements are contained in the Instruction to Bidders, General Conditions and Special Conditions. Anyone wishing to discuss specific items is requested to submit the items in writing to Matthew Spalding Capital Construction Procurement, no later than 06/10/2020 at 1:00 pm. Written questions can be submitted by email to: matthew.spalding@uky.edu and sbowlin@uky.edu or fax to 859.257.1951 The time for substantial completion for all phases shall be Thirty-Seven (37) Calendar Days and Final Completion shall be Thirty (30) days thereafter. Substantial Completion will include all site restoration completed, site clean-up and fully functional The apparent low bidder will be requested to meet with the Construction Manager to review the bid and scope of services. The time and place of this meeting will be announced at the bid opening The University of Kentucky, Construction Procurement Section, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all formalities and/or technicalities where the best interest of the University may be served. # Written Questions Due 9-14-20 @ 3:00 pm
