The City of Naperville is accepting bids from qualified vendors to prepare and paint 138kV energized steel transmission poles on the Naperville Electric Utility's System. These specifications establish the guidelines for surface preparation and painting of 138kV steel transmission poles on the City of Napervilles Electric Utility System. This scope of work includes the painting of ninety-six (96) of the one hundred sixteen (116) steel poles. The pole painting is anticipated to be a multiyear project, with the number of poles done each year to be dependent upon the available budget and the pricing. The intent is to issue a one-year contract with three one-year option years to renew. The Utility is requesting pricing for the poles estimated to be completed each year with the understanding that there could be more or less painted in any given year. If poles are added to the scope of work in any given year, then poles and pricing will be agreed upon by both parties prior to painting. After the first initial year of work is completed, assuming both parties wish to continue working together, the Utility and the Contractor will re-confirm pricing, including any poles not painted in the initial year or other poles the Utility adds or removes.
